Fixed Term until January 2021

We are seeking to recruit two highly motivated and passionate postdoctoral fellows (PDTFs) to work on a joint effort linking two research teams within The Breast Cancer Now Research Centre. Globally, breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women today. Whilst progress has been made in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, de novo or acquired resistance therapy remains a significant problem. You have the unique privilege to make a highly positive impact in making the discoveries that defeat cancer which truly make a difference.

Working in a highly collaborative environment, you will to design and perform projects at the highest ethical standard to drive forward high-level innovative research on the in vitro and in vivo functional evaluation of novel drivers in TNBC and luminal breast cancer, and resistance mechanisms to targeted agents.

You will play a key role within the research projects, evaluating novel therapies for TNBC, including genetic manipulation of current and novel models to address the therapeutic tractability, potential resistance mechanisms and ways to overcome these.

Extensive experience in molecular biology and cell biology is essential, including 3-D cell culture and assay methodologies such as CRISPR genome editing.  Experience using in vivo models of breast cancer and experience in high-throughput in vitro screens is highly desirable

You will be able to evidence a strong track record in biomedical research as demonstrated by high-impact, first author publications coupled with a successful background in experimental work in lab and data analysis. A degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or Cell Biology and PhD in molecular or cancer cell biology is essential.

This post will be based in the Functional Genomics group; under the supervision of Dr Rachael Natrajan (job ref 212) additionally the second post is available within Molecular Endocrinology group with Dr Lesley Ann Martin.
