The Department for Education and Childhood offers a range of programmes in Childhood, Education, Initial Teacher Education and Professional Development. These are thriving courses which we run in partnership with a wide range of educational and cultural organisations.

The department is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor Learning and Teaching. 

This I-grade post is part of a drive to increase research leadership and capacity in the department, and further develop our expertise in learning and teaching, including digital learning. 

As an Associate Professor you will be expected to contribute to the leadership and support of others in developing research in the department, and also work with colleagues across the faculty and university, and with partners, as part of a wider contribution to research and knowledge exchange. You will also be expected to produce high quality outputs relevant to the department and seek links between research and teaching. 

You will have a doctoral level qualification and research outputs in a subject area relevant to this post and which would contribute significantly to an Education unit in the REF.

Your contribution to the design and delivery of teaching will also be a highly valued aspect of this role; relevant programmes include the PG Cert Academic Practice, MA Academic Practice, MA Education, EdD, BA(Hons) Education and Technology and Initial Teacher Education programmes.
