Clinical Research Nurse

University of Oxford - Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit, NDM Experimental Medicine

We are seeking a part-time Clinical Research Nurse (30 hours per week), with an interest in respiratory medicine, to join our multidisciplinary team to manage the recruitment, education and monitoring of patients entering clinical trials in respiratory disorders. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in research to directly improve patient care for those suffering from respiratory disease.

The Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit (ORTU) is a specialist centre for the recruitment of patients to respiratory trials. The current trial portfolio includes studies of pleural diseases, asthma, COPD, Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, mechanisms of dyspnoea perception and respiratory sleep and breathing disorders.

It is essential that you are a registered nurse with good communication skills and some knowledge of respiratory medicine. You should be highly organised and able to keep accurate and comprehensive records. 

To succeed in this role you will require an enthusiasm for learning, the ability to work to procedures and protocols and a flexible approach to work including the willingness to visit patients in the community.

Previous experience of nursing patients with respiratory disorders, post-registration training or qualification in respiratory disease, clinical research experience and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training would be desirable but not essential.

This post is fixed-term for 1 year in the first instance.
