Research Associate in Applied Mathematics

Post is available for a period of 18 months, starting on or before 1st January 2018 due to funder requirements.

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Applied Mathematics, funded predominately by the EPSRC grant "Complex flows and optics to model topographical substrate design: Solar panel application balancing superhydrophobicity and concentrated photovoltaics" under the supervision of Dr David N. Sibley (Loughborough University).

Applicants will be expected to hold or be close to finishing a PhD degree in Applied Mathematics, or in Physics or Engineering with a strong theoretical component. They should also possess a proven research track record in Mathematical Modelling, containing in part the numerical solution of Partial Differential Equations (PDEs). Previous research involving Fluid Dynamics,Optics, Nonlinear Dynamics, or related areas would be desirable.

The successful candidate will join the Mathematical Modelling Group in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Loughborough University.
