Senior Research Officer (Child Health Epidemiologist)

Applicants are invited for the vacant post within the Farr Institute, Swansea University Medical School to work closely with the organisations/groups that form or work closely with the Farr Institute and Medical School, including (but not limited to):

The NHS Wales Informatics Service (NWIS).

Various groups in Swansea University’s Data Science Building, including the team which develops and operates the Secure Anonymous Information Linkage (SAIL) databank, and research centres such as Administrative Data Research Centre Wales (ADRC-W).

Welsh Health Boards, NHS Trusts, or other healthcare or social care organisations.

You should have a higher or post graduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject (e.g. computing, IT, operations research with a proven track record in big data, including use of cohort data linkage and the analysis of large complex health data sets, as well as excellent data analysis and epidemiology skills.

You will also need an extensive track-record of publications, particularly as the principal author with evidence of applying independently for external research funding or to be leading the bid-writing process
