The Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics invites applications for two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions with Professor Timothy Gowers in the fields of Additive and Extremal Combinatorics. One post is funded by a Royal Society Research Professor Enhancement Award.

Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant field and a strong research record; they may also have previous postdoc experience. They will be expected to be able to develop their own research projects, as well as to be willing to collaborate with Professor Gowers and other members of the Department. The successful candidates will be encouraged to do a certain amount of teaching, typically one lecture course per year at the Part III (Masters or graduate) level, but the precise duties and their timing are flexible. They may also be asked to carry out other activities such as supervising student projects, developing student research skills, and giving seminars related to the research area.
