Postdoctoral Research Associate (Grade 7)

You will work on an exciting new project that seeks to use the UK’s academic network (SUPERJANET) to interconnect multiple virtual environments. The post is funded in support of our recently EPSRC-funded research project entitled ‘Context Aware network architectures for Sending Multiple Senses (CASMS)’. The vision is to establish a unique facility for investigating how we can engineer future network architectures to support future multi-sensory applications in a distributed manner.

For this post, you should have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, as well as significant research experience in developing distributed virtual environments and computer networking, and be able to demonstrate your research quality and potential, and have a willingness to work with a team of researchers to develop this exciting new research area.

You will work in an exciting interdisciplinary environment working in the Advanced Networks Research Group led by Professor Alan Marshall, with the Virtual Engineering Centre, and with academic colleagues from University College London and from a range of industrial partners including the BBC, Virtalis, and Jaguar Land Rover. The post is available until 31 January 2021.
