Flexible location

QAs Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (CMDA) is a pedagogically innovative work-based programme that has expanded rapidly since its recent launch. Our degree apprentices work for varied clients including FTSE100 businesses, central government departments, wider public sector organisations and small technology companies. The Apprenticeship division is part of QA, the UK’s leading provider of IT and business services training and education. Our multi-award winning programmes were awarded the highest possible grade by Ofsted with ‘Outstanding’ in all areas.

Our role

As an Assistant Lecturer, you will enjoy being responsible for the progress and academic achievement of degree apprentices on the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (CMDA).   The programme involves all aspects of Leading and Managing, allowing our learners to achieve a BSc (Hons) Degree in Professional Management. The role involves teaching and learning on innovative CMDA modules. They are innovative as they involve experiential learning, spiral learning, creating digital, future-proofed organisations, deep personalisation and the development of theories-in-action; all to approach work-based learning in a scholarly, professional and considered way. You will also be involved in the development of module material, liaison with coaches who visit the learners in the workplace and the marking of assessments; all to create a progressive and valuable experience for every student and their employer.

You will be expected to teach at least across two functional areas and to be able to accommodate learners integrating material from any module, into any role, into any sector. The role requires working with Senior Lecturers, who are Module Leaders, and the Associate Dean in charge of Degree Apprenticeships in Managing and Leading. We work as a close-knit, well-managed team, sharing teaching experiences and new ideas. We challenge each other and work determinedly and efficiently, to reach ever improving teaching and learning standards and outcomes.

Having a passion for teaching, imparting knowledge and engendering new skills and behaviours, keeping up to date in an ever-changing world, and importantly role-modelling your interest in inquiring into organisations to promote the professional development of managers, are all needed for this varied role.
