Clinical Research Fellow in Ophthalmology and Vitreoretinal Bioengineering

In partnership with St Paul’s Eye Unit at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, the University of Liverpool is offering an exciting and innovative opportunity to train as a future academic ophthalmologist. The post is suitable for clinical trainees who have completed their core clinical training equivalent to UK ST3.

You will undertake ground-breaking research within a multi-disciplinary research programme in vitreoretinal surgery and ophthalmic bioengineering. The research is primarily laboratory-based, but will lead to the development of novel surgical techniques that will have a significant benefit to patients.

You will be encouraged to register for a PhD/MD and will also extend your general clinical ophthalmology training by undertaking two clinical sessions each week at St Paul’s Eye Unit. The post is available for 3 years.
