Postdoctoral Research Fellow (0.5FTE)

Leeds Beckett University - Carnegie School of Education

Race and Education

Fixed Term until December 2019

This is an exciting time to join us at Carnegie School of Education. Our new postdoctoral position is an exceptional opportunity for you to work on race, racism, decolonial thought, decolonial practice and to develop transnational approaches to the possibilities of deracialization. This position is ideally suited for someone with a PhD focused on Racism Studies or Critical Ethnic Studies who works from an intersectional perspective. Working with the project PI, you will undertake research and dissemination on a Swedish Research Council funded project on deracialization, with partners in South Africa, Brazil, Sweden and the UK. You will have an important role in the project’s success. You will propose, design, and conduct research using qualitative research methods based on the project’s priorities as well as organise project meetings and seminars. You will also collaborate with Race and Education Cluster colleagues to seek further research funding in the areas of race, racism and education as well as further develop your profile by co-authoring publications based on the project. There will also be opportunities for part-time teaching within the School.

Closing date: 4 December 2017 (Midnight)

Interviews are provisionally scheduled for 11 December 2017
