Academic Subject Manager of Music and Sounds

The University of South Wales, Faculty of Creative Industries is seeking to appoint an experienced Academic Subject Manager to lead our successful provision in Music & Sound.

Faculty benefits from a talented team of academic and technical staff, outstanding teaching facilities, and significant investment in a new campus building. Music & Sound currently has 5 Undergraduate and 2 Postgraduate courses that provide a wide range of inter-disciplinary subjects for study.

The Faculty is committed to providing an outstanding creative education experience across its diverse portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. To achieve this the Faculty is collaborating with industry partners at a regional, national and international level, in order to develop graduates who are able to demonstrate creative skills, graduate attributes, and professional behaviours appropriate to the needs of employers now, and in the future.

The role holder will be expected to provide leadership and operational management of academic staff in addition to supporting the Director to ensure quality assurance, curriculum development, industry engagement and an outstanding student experience. Applicants for the post should be able to demonstrate a proven track record in successful people management in the subject area, in addition to a wealth of industry knowledge and contacts, and the ability to respond to current challenges within the Higher Education sector.
