The Faculty of Arts, Computing, Engineering and Sciences is looking for a VR Developer (Researcher) to work on Sheffield Innovation Programme (SIP) projects as part of a growing team of VR / AR researchers within the Cultural, Communication and Computing Research Institute (C3RI). We have a strong track record in business and industry engagement, particularly contract research and consultancy.

The role involves designing and developing systems for use with VR and AR based on the requirements of end users and following games design principles. You will help provide solutions for businesses within the Sheffield city region, and have the opportunity to work closely with researchers and practitioners with a wide range of technical expertise.

You must have an honours degree in software / games development or digital media production, or professional experience in a relevant discipline, as well as excellent communication and organisational skills. Experience of Unity 3D and /or Unreal, and the ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively, on projects and as part of a team is essential. Ideally you will also have experience with VR, AR or games development.

For non EU applicants please be advised that due to a new minimum salary threshold of £30,000 per annum imposed by the UK Visas and Immigration we may not be able to offer a certificate of sponsorship for this job. The majority of our new employees normally start at the bottom the appropriate grade, although the chair of the appointment panel can recommend a higher starting salary taking into account things like relevant skills and experience.
