An Australian first, The Faculty of Transdisciplinary Innovation (FTDi) offers a place for students and academics to engage in learning and research with a focus on high-level critical and creative thinking, problem solving, data and digital technologies, invention, complexity, innovation, future scenario building and entrepreneurship. 

Our vision at UTS’s Faculty of Transdisciplinary Innovation (FTDi) is to advance learning beyond the traditions of the disciplines, push boundaries and explore how we work in terms of transdisciplinarity to create new solutions for a future world. 

The newly created Faculty of Transdisciplinary Innovation (FTDi) is growing its academic footprint and is seeking the recruitment of Lecturers, Senior Lecturers or Associate Professors to support development in research and teaching in the transdisciplinary innovation space.

Responsibilities of these roles will include:

  • Maintaining an active, impactful research program
  • Seeking and being granted and awarded research funding from external sources
  • High levels of collaboration across the University and wider commercial and industry environments
  • Undertaking teaching duties, subject design and development and co-ordination

Background experience across multiple disciplines but specifically emerging technologies, data science, engineering and entrepreneurship will be highly favourable. Additionally, experience in collaboration and professional networking as well as strong communication and academic leadership experience will support success in the role.

Remuneration & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $99,924 to $155,915 pa (Level B/C/D)

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary. Employee benefits include flexible work practices, child care centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities. 

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
