Clinical Trial Co-ordinator ‘RV3’ Trial Grade 7

We are seeking an individual to provide project co-ordination and high level administrative and technical support for a Phase II randomized, double blind, parallel group dose-ranging study of oral RV3-BB Rotavirus Vaccine administered at a titre of 1x107, 3 x 106 or 1 x 106 as a 3 dose neonate schedule or administered at a titre of 1x107as a 3 dose infant schedule. (“RV3 Trial”). The project will employ field teams, laboratory teams and data teams. You will live and work in Blantyre, Malawi, based at the Malawi-Liverpool-Wellcome Trust Major Overseas Unit. Together with the follow-up co-ordinator and an administrator you will manage and oversee the day-to-day aspects of the running of the clinical trial, and will also take responsibility for high level administrative, logistic, financial, communications and regulatory aspects of the trial and related research work in Malawi. Duties include planning procurement and supplies, financial reporting, maintaining regulatory approvals and paperwork and sampling frames, facilitating communications between the study team and all relevant stakeholders and collaborators including sponsor (Murdoch Children’s Research Institute Melbourne) and the CRO (Triclinium, South Africa), by regular teleconferences and collaborative meetings, and making all travel arrangements, and maintaining project records according to the study protocol and MLW procedures.

You should have a degree (or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience) or training in a project management related area and have proven experience in the co-ordination and management of clinical trials in resource poor environments, including budget and financial responsibility with experience in milestone driven research orientated projects. The post will commence on the 1 January 2018 for one year. 

Appointment to the post will be subject to obtaining an appropriate right to work.
