Marketing and Delegate Recruitment Manager

The Research Engagment and Innovation Services Directorate are looking to appoint a Marketing and delegate Recruitment Manager to evolve, and deliver a communications strategy and marketing plan to recruit a minimum of 450 eligible delegates to the Leading Business Growth (LBG) programme. The role will include using traditional communications channels and new media to maximise the scope and reach of the LBG project.

The role holder will communicate the value of training and development opportunities to businesses and third sector organisations across the region. The role will include developing and maintaining the LBG web presence and social media channels. The role holder will also play a pivotal role in recruiting delegates to the LBG Programme and be responsible for delivering the target delegate numbers.

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an individual to undertake the following main duties:

  • Responsible for managing the projects marketing and communication initiatives, using market research and analysis to ensure an effective direct marketing strategy
  • Manages and delivers marketing campaigns to the highest standards and within agreed budgets. Adjusts marketing campaigns and strategies as needed in response to collated data and other feedback to ensure delegate recruitment effectiveness
  • Ensure time is well managed to undertake professional presentations to groups and individual prospective delegates
  • Attend networking opportunities
  • Represent the project at Business Shows and Events
  • Deliver a significant contribution to the overall delegate recruitment target
  • Able to generate marketing reports for senior management and project funders
  • To ensure the LBG web presence promotes and communicates the advantages of the programme effectively
  • To maintain and support the Department’s CRM approach to business development
  • To maintain the LBG web presence to ensure that content is dynamic, relevant and newsworthy. This will include the co-ordination of news items, the events diary, refreshment of case study material and other web developments as identified by the team
  • To work within financial guidelines and budgets to procure external services as required
  • To work closely with the Programme Manager and the Learning Officers to ensure the flow of marketing and PR opportunities is maintained; to sign off on all publicity and marketing materials
