Research Associate in Building Stock and Energy Modelling

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £34,635 - £41,864 per annum , inclusive of London Allowance.

We are seeking a Research Associate to join the Building Stock and Energy Modelling team in the UCL Energy Institute to work on the development of models and assimilate empirical data for urban environments in the UK and India. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking rigorous, quantitative, research in support of multi-disciplinary energy and buildings projects, with a focus on domestic and non-domestic energy modelling, data handling and analytics and interpretation. The post is funded for 36 months in the first instance. Further funding to support the post may be available.

The ideal candidate is a highly quantitative, analytical person with an expert knowledge of building physics, programming, and a keen interest in multi-disciplinary research. The focus of this post is in analytical and modelling approaches to energy including handling large data sets plus modelling individual buildings and the stock, and physical interpretation. A passion for energy research and a demonstrable capacity to work in highly interdisciplinary environments and to deliver robust research are essential.
