Starting Salary £27,906 - £33,305 dependant on experience + £3,000 Recruitment and Retention Allowance (RRA) p.a.
Band Salary £27,906 – £41,082

The MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) is a world-class research institute seeking to understand biological processes at a molecular level. With about 60 research groups and over 700 staff, students and visitors engaged full time in research, the Laboratory has a wide range of research programmes, using an equally wide range of techniques and approaches.

We are seeking two enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join the existing H&S team. Reporting to the Head of Health and Safety, the post holders will lead on either Chemical & Biological Safety or Facilities and Fire or Wellbeing and Ergonomics. In addition, the post holders will provide general health & safety support and advice to research and support staff, on a wide range of topics, with the mission of supporting a positive safety culture that enables high quality science.

You will be a hands-on, pragmatic, people-orientated individual with demonstrable influencing skills. You will be a team player with the ability to engage collaboratively with staff at different levels, organise your own time effectively and have a flexible approach as the work demands can change. You should hold a Science Degree and the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. Previous experience of scientific research and laboratories is desirable.
