Teaching Fellow (Academic Sport)

This is a part time (0.5 fte), permanent appointment within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences for a Teaching Fellow (Academic Sport).

Overall purpose of post: We are seeking an individual with recent, applied experience in the field of strength and conditioning. This post will contribute to the teaching and supervision of undergraduate students who are considering embarking on a career in the field.

You should have:

  • MSc or equivalent Sport and Exercise Science qualification
  • UKSCA or equivalent qualification
  • Recent applied experience of strength and conditioning in a high performance environment
  • Experience of coordinating students, for example, internship programmes.

As Teaching Fellow you will be:

  • Teaching students using appropriate instruction methods such as lectures, tutorials, seminars, on-line learning and other formal pedagogic work
  • Developing and managing the strength and conditioning associated activities
  • Contributing to consultancy work
  • Participating in the administrative processes of the institution including committee and working groups, quality assurance procedures, recruitment and admission of students.

International applicants from outside the EU will need to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK.
