Contractual Hours: 0.6 FTE: 24 hours per week (three days)

Person specification

The BA (Hons) Creative / Professional Musicianship Course Leader will be a highly experienced, dynamic practitioner with a strong background in music education.

Course Leaders are responsible for the day-to-day operational management of their course(s), leading on curriculum delivery, curriculum design and learning and teaching. You will work closely with the Head of Education, Head of Academic Studies, and the Heads of Department to ensure that the BIMM Ethos and Education Strategy are implemented consistently and effectively across the courses. 

Essential criteria for applicant

  • A modern music practitioner with substantial live and/or recording experience
  • Qualified to degree level
  • Experience of teaching and assessing in Higher Education
  • Experience of teaching and assessing on the specified course(s)
  • The ability to lead, develop and co-ordinate a team of part-time staff successfully
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills and the confidence and authority to be a spokesperson and ambassador for BIMM
  • Good level of IT skills
