Research Associate

University of Bristol - School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies

A Research Associate position is available in the School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies, University of Bristol. The successful applicant will work on the six country H2020 funded study, Towards a European Theory of Justice and Fairness (or ETHOS). The project explores what different people mean by ‘justice’ with a view to better understand the possibilities of justice, and why, for some people, it seems so difficult to achieve. The University of Bristol is co-ordinating a work package on the relation between justice as claimed and justice as lived experience (WP5), but is participating in all project work packages. The successful applicant will conduct the research and analysis for six national reports requiring a combination of legal research, descriptive statistics, discourse analysis and a small number of qualitative interviews. They will provide administrative support to the PI and co-ordinate WP5. They may also assist the PI in drafting national reports.

This post is offered on an open ended basis with fixed funding until December 2019.

For informal enquiries please contact Professor Bridget Anderson, Bridget.anderson@bristol.ac.uk, 0117 3310848.

The University is committed to creating and sustaining a fully inclusive culture.  We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities.
