The Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing at Coventry University is one of the largest in the UK, and is nationally and internationally renowned as a centre of innovation for its teaching, learning and research of computing subject areas. The School of Computing, Electronics and Mathematics is one of three schools within the faculty and has a very successful suite of courses supported by excellent staff, teaching facilities and laboratories. The school is responsible for the development of a thriving portfolio of teaching and research.  We offer undergraduate degrees in Information Technology for Business, Computer Science, Computing, Ethical Hacking and Cybersecurity, Games Technology and Multimedia Computing. Our postgraduate courses include Data Science and Computational Intelligence, Computer Science, Network and Forensic Computing.

Coventry University has recently been awarded Gold in the teaching excellence framework (TEF) exercise and ranked second in the UK.  In the Guardian University Guide 2018, Coventry is ranked 12th in the UK. We are interested in expanding our computer science teaching team, particularly in the following areas:

  • Algorithms, infrastructure and applications of big data
  • Computational intelligence and machine learning
  • Information Security
  • Machine Vision

You will be responsible for the development, preparation and delivery of learning, teaching and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level, ensuring the teaching for which you are responsible is informed by contemporary research in the relevant field and develops the ability of students to engage in debate, critical discourse and rational thinking.

As well as working on campus at Coventry University, you will have the opportunity to working with our partners internationally, such as Dubai, Hong Kong or Malaysia in order to develop courses and materials.

With a PhD and appropriate professional qualification and/or membership, you will need to demonstrate teaching experience at higher education level with evidence of successful student learning outcomes.

You will need to share our passion for delivering a positive student experience that puts excellence in teaching and learning at the heart of everything you do and will be able to demonstrate significant knowledge of your area of specialisation.
