Senior Lecturer in Cyber Security

Senior Lecturer appointment £39,992, rising annually to £49,149.

For candidates with appropriate experience we will consider an appointment of Reader in Cyber Security, with a salary starting point of £50,618, rising annually to £56,950.

The post of Senior Lecturer in Cyber Security within the School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics, based at the Wheatley Campus, offers an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary environment with a tradition of excellence in teaching and research and strong links with industry. The role will involve development and delivery of our Cyber Security programmes as well as pursuing high quality impactful research in the area.

You will join a strong team delivering successful undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Computing in a well-equipped, purpose-built, facility supported by excellent links with industry.

You will be responsible for:

  • Teach and examine undergraduate and master¿s level students.
  • Develop national and international recognition in the peer community, through a sustained programme of research, income generation and knowledge exchange activity.
  • Contribute to peer reviewed funding bids, which develop and sustain research and/or knowledge exchange in cyber security.
  • Initiate and develop links with external contacts such as other educational institutions, editorial boards, employers and professional bodies to foster collaboration.

You should have:

  • PhD or equivalent in computer science, cyber security or related discipline
  • Experience in delivery of teaching and learning activities at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels
  • Experience in curriculum development
  • Experience contributing to the delivery of high quality research and publishing articles of international standing
  • Experience of working effectively as part of a team, to develop and deliver academic programmes

Please note that an appointment as Senior Lecturer in Cyber Security does not automatically progress to the role of Reader.
