We are recruiting exceptional Art and Design teachers to join our team at Nottingham Trent International College. You'll have the ability to deliver outstanding teaching and learning across a range of creative disciplines on our Foundation Certificate in Art & Design. You will help prepare, deliver, assess and verify subject specialisms for a range of creative Disciplines. You will also support and guide students to achieve success and realise their potential and provide a high-quality learning experience.

You ideally should have a strong visual arts background with creative skills in visual language, research, technical skills, critical and contextual awareness, materials and processes.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Preparing and delivering modules in the relevant subject area (Art and Design) to international students studying on programmes offered by the College
  • Assisting with the development of modules
  • Preparing module assessment briefs formative and summative assessment, including re-sit assessment briefs, marking and providing feedback to students
  • Partaking in standardisation and moderation processes, including second marking
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of the College’s virtual learning environment (VLE), and facilitating student access to same
  • Providing input for related modules to the annual review and reporting process
  • Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date record of student attendance and performance
  • Any other duties as required from time to time by the College Director, Academic Director and the Programme Leaders.

About you

You will enjoy working with international students, be customer orientated and performance driven and possess:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor degree in a related subject area, and preferably a Master’s degree or higher (or equivalent qualification)
  • Previous teaching experience in one of the relevant areas of expertise or a related area within a UK further or higher education context
  • A teaching certificate, or currently undertaking a relevant course (desirable)
  • Experience of teaching International students within a level three qualification framework
  • Understanding of current developments in the FE curriculum, including delivery and assessment methodologies
  • Ability to develop and update teaching material and preferably experience of working within a Virtual Learning Environment
  • Competence in teaching and administrative IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, etc.)
  • Strong record-keeping skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to work under pressure to deadlines
  • Enthusiasm and motivation to be a performance-driven team player.
