Research Associate in High Temperature Superconductivity (X-ray and Neutron Scattering)

The School of Physics at the University of Bristol is looking to appoint a Research Associate within its Correlated Electron Systems research group. This postdoctoral position is part of a EPSRC funded project to investigate ‘Competing Orders and Superconductivity in Cuprate Superconductors’.   The position is specifically focussed on investigating the spin and charge correlations in the cuprate superconductors.  The project will involve neutron and x-ray scattering experiments performed at international facilities (e.g. UK, France, USA) together with low temperature transport and magnetic measurements performed in Bristol. You will work in close co-operation with other members of the team including a second postdoc who will focus on transport measurements in high magnetic fields on the same materials.

You should have a Ph.D. in physics, and should have experience with an experimental technique relevant to the project (for example: neutron/x-ray scattering, ARPES).  You should also have significant research experience in studying the fundamental physics of correlated electron materials (e.g., superconductors, quantum magnets) or related materials such as topological conductors.
