Fixed-term, 0.5-time contract until 30 September 2019 (21 months).

Applications are invited for a 0.5 time Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship based in the Enterprise Research Centre at Warwick Business School. The person appointed will work with Professor Stephen Roper and Dr Kevin Mole (WBS) and Professor Mark Hart and Professor Ute Stephan (Aston Business School) on a project focusing on individual and small business resilience in disadvantaged groups. This project is being funded by the J P Morgan Foundation. The post requires strong inter-personal and qualitative research skills. Experience of individual and business interviewing, running focus groups and report writing will be an advantage.

The Research Fellow will be involved actively in all aspects of the project including the design and development of interview and survey questionnaires, case study and individual interviews, and co-authoring and presenting conference and academic papers. The Research Fellow will also be expected to contribute actively to the impact strategy and wider dissemination of research results to stakeholders and policymakers.

The post holder should have, or be close to completing, a PhD in social science, economics or a related social science discipline. An understanding of small businesses is highly desirable.

If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant on level 5 of the University grade structure (£28,936 pro rata). Upon successful award of your PhD and evidence of this fact, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of the level 6 of the University grade structure (£29,799 pro rata).

The Enterprise Research Centre is a collaborative research centre led by Warwick and Aston Business Schools with Imperial, Strathclyde, Birmingham and Queen’s University School of Management as partner institutions.
