UFP Tutor (Economics)


Hours: Variable Hours

Job Description 

Bell seeks a qualified Economics tutor to deliver the UFP Economics programme. Previous experience of tutoring Economics courses will be an advantage, although this isn't as essential as generic tutoring expereince.  

Main responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, teach and where appropriate design courses and lessons, selecting and sequencing appropriate materials, resources, methods, and techniques according to learners’/sponsors’ expectations and needs, paying relevant attention to learning context and environment, as directed and to agreed standards;
  • Assess, and provide relevant and timely feedback, including regular written reports on achievement, progress, and developmental needs of students and as directed;
  • Set, evaluate, and mark students’ coursework, homework and examinations according to student needs and the requirements of the course;
  • Complete and carry out associated administrative tasks as directed
  • Provide students with academic advice, counselling, educational guidance, and tutorial support, including individual learning plans as directed;
  • Supervise students’ attendance and behaviour, as appropriate
  • Develop materials and resources, and in syllabus development as directed
  • Attend academic meetings when required
  • Adhere to the standards and procedures detailed in the Teachers’ Handbook.

Person Specification 

Education Level

Degree/ Masters level qualified in Economics is essential whilst PGCE qualification would be an advantage.


Teaching experience at Level 3 (AS & A Level) or above in Economics is essential. Experience of teaching on a foundation course is desirable.
