Applications are sought for an Animal Technician to assist in providing technical support for research within the Barts Cancer Institute, specifically for in vivo animal-based research. The successful applicant will have NVQ level experience or equivalent in Animal Technology. The research will be based in the Centre for Molecular Oncology, Barts Cancer Institute, within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London.

Essential requirements for this post include technical training/qualifications in handling and procedures as well as registered Animal Technician status. A BSc in a biological discipline would be an advantage as would a personal Home Office licence and a strong background in cancer models. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain good laboratory records are also essential.

The post is full time for 8 months starting in early Jan 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter. Starting salary will be in the range £32,956 - £38,709 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. The Barts Cancer Institute requires that applicants invited for interview will need to provide all certificates to confirm their qualifications (specified in the Job Description).

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave ot remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
