Production Scientist

The salary will be paid at Grade 5, £28,098 to £30,688 per annum, plus £2,923 per annum London Allowance.

This post will be a Fixed Term Contract for 1 year

Full time (35 hours per week), 100% full-term equivalent.

The main objective of this position is to work with the rest of Cell and Gene Therapy at King’s (CGT-K) production team, producing different types of Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs), Specials, and cell therapies, but also especially viral vectors. Production Scientists are responsible for carrying out production activities in compliance with EU GMP, including:

  • To assist in batch manufacture of ATMPs according to written protocols;
  • Then progress to qualified operator for aseptic manufacture in grade A environment;
  • Be responsible for organising production campaign including GMP documentation (e.g. manufacture record, SOPs, change controls, Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs);
  • Work with Quality Assurance (QA) team to prepare the production campaign, including materials, documentation, facility and equipment;
  • To carry out re-validations of procedures, operator validation training and equipment validation on regular basis;
  • To be involved in preparation for MHRA/FDA inspections and internal/external audit as required;
  • To work as required in comply with all aspects of the PQS;

To work close together with both the production team and the quality team to ensure milestones are met, and products delivered according to schedule.

The selection process will include competency-based questions, and a panel interview. Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing: 08/01/2018.
