Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Technician

The salary will be paid at Grade 4, £24,285 per annum, plus £2,923 per annum London Allowance.

This post will be Fixed Term Contract for 1 year

Full time (35 hours per week), 100% full-term equivalent.

The main objective of this position is to support GMP-compliant activities for the production of Advanced Therapy Medicine Products (ATMPs), in particular, cell and gene therapies as Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs). The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out the day-to-day monitoring of the GMP facilities.
  • Performing routine cleaning of the manufacturing suites, environmental monitoring of the manufacturing suites
  • Ensuring that the Cell and Gene Therapy, King’s (CGT-K) group’s manufacturing suites and storage areas are maintained in a fit-for-purpose state.
  • Conducting regular stock checks and assist in the maintenance of stock inventory.
  • Assisting in stock control including ordering against defined specifications and receipt of materials, appropriate storage of starting biological products, Quality Control (QC) approval and release of materials for use.
  • Developing and maintaining thorough knowledge of the equipment and facility with respect to workings, history and maintenance requirements.
  • Working closely with a team of Production, QC Scientists and Quality Assurance (QA) personnel to control and manage all materials used in the production of ATMPs in accordance to in-house policies and EU GMP.

The selection process will include competency-based questions, and a panel interview. Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing: 08/01/2018.
