Business Development Manager

Reporting To: CEO

Role Summary: We are looking for a high-performing Business Development Manager helping GBS to achieve its ambitious student recruitment targets by delivering a highly professional and personalised attraction and enquiry management service. The key aim will be to develop trusted relationships with enquirers, in-progress candidates and offer-holders as they move through the attraction, recruitment, selection and admissions cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake market research to identify sectors with requirements that can be met by the School.
  • Maximise all potential sales on the events by executing current sales plans, meeting and exceeding monthly and annual sales targets and developing income from other sources ie sponsorship and stand revenue
  • Developing and working with strategic alliances with external organisations that will benefit the school economically, educationally and socially.
  • Encouraging an innovative and entrepreneurial culture within the school and across the alliance.
  • Liaising with directors to develop the strategies to attract students and alliance and setting of targets.
  • Keeping up-to-date with key issues and development in the Finance industries, higher education, continuing professional development and Competitive environment.
  • Compiling and analysing sales figures against the target figures.
  • Prepares proposals for marketing campaigns and promotional activities.
  • Preparing, collecting and analysing surveys from alliances and students.
  • Planning resources, recruiting and training junior business development staff.
  • Producing reports and recommendations concerning marketing and business development strategies for senior management

The appointee will be allocated other duties, commensurate with the grade, as deemed necessary by the CEO.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • At least two years’ work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise
