Applications are invited for the above post in the Faculty of Science & Engineering which is expected to become one of the biggest faculty as the University rolls out its detailed, long term plans. The University expects to triple its number of engineering students to over 3,000 within the next few years.

Candidates must have a PhD degree and preferably postgraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline, preferable in mechanical engineering, manufacturing and materials, especially composite materials, and excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Knowledge and experience of composite materials manufacturing are necessary. Experience of supervising PhD and Master students and experience of teaching, tutorial or laboratory work at undergraduate and postgraduate level in an international English speaking institution are preferable.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate programme of mechanical, materials and manufacture, to play a lead role in collaborative research projects and conduct ongoing original research and publications in the areas of composite materials and manufacturing.

Salary will be within the range of £35,550 - £47,722 per annum depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance).In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments.

The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of five years starting 1 March 2018. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
