Clinical Senior Lecturer in Work Based Learning

The School of Medicine is seeking to appoint a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Work-based Learning to work closely with the Head of Work-based Learning and Local Education Provider Leads, and in a collaborative School of Medicine setting.

Duties will include:

  • Leading on the recruitment, oversight, quality management and evaluation of the clinical placements and work-based learning environments for undergraduate medical students and physician associates. This will include the recruitment of new clinical placement providers, quality assurance, medical educator support and development, practice support, practice visits, peer review and feedback.
  • To work collaboratively across the University and with outside agencies to develop and support work- based learning and to optimise the impact of the University across the health economy.
  • To contribute to the achievement of academic objectives through teaching, assessment and the development of research and knowledge transfer opportunities.

Holding full registration with the GMC, the successful applicant will be a qualified medical doctor and have experience and understanding of work-based learning in undergraduate education. Experience of resource management including working with regulatory processes and governance systems relevant to areas such as quality, finance and human resources is also an essential requirement.

Self-motivated and pro-active in the approach to challenges and opportunities, the successful applicant will have an excellent track record of building and sustaining internal and external relationships alongside excellent communication and networking skills.
