Summary of Job Purpose and Principal Duties

Duration of post: 2 years

Role Purpose
A post is now available for 24 months for a Clinical Research Fellow to perform a CSO and TASC funded research project and range of broader clinical trial research activities. The project will be ideal for an MD Thesis and for gaining experience across a breadth of clinical trials. This post will be funded jointly by the Chief Scientist Office (CSO) and Tayside Medical Science Centre (TASC) and, as such, the role will be split 50:50 into: (1) Cardiology research and (2) Clinical trials research across broader areas based in the Clinical Research Centre (CRC).

Interviews are expected to take place week commencing 22 January 2018.

Summary of Skills, Experience and Qualifications
The post holder should have knowledge and experience of clinical research and have had involvement in clinical research. The post holder must be skilled in echocardiography

  • Significant post registration experience.
  • MBChB MRCP

  • MRCP

  • Extensive Cardiology Registrar experience as required to partake in On Call Rota requirements.

Involvement in conducting clinical trials

Essential

  • ALS training, GCP, Echocardiography skills.

Desirable

  • Statistical skills.

Knowledge
Essential

  • Principles of regulatory requirements of Clinical Research.

Personal Qualities

  • Team player, high achiever, ambitious, excellent communicator.
