Cambridge University Health Partners (CUHP) unites the University of Cambridge and three high-performing NHS Foundation Trusts centred on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. CUHP has the strategic intention to increase the impact of its research activity on the development of new treatments for patients. To achieve this, the Office for Translational Research (OTR) was tasked with developing and managing key industrial research partnerships of as well as developing a programme of translational research projects on behalf of CUHP. The team offers support by sourcing funding, expertise, and providing project management for the development and application of technology for patient care as a whole, ranging from drug discovery to cell and gene therapy through to medical interventions. 

This senior role within the team will play a crucial part in delivering on both of these ambitions. There are two major components to this role:

**Industrial Partnerships:** This post will play a major role in structuring and managing a programme of collaborative research projects between industry and the University of Cambridge/ CUHP.  The role holder will also take a lead on developing and managing other industrial partnerships

**Translational Research Projects:** The post will also develop and manage a programme of publicly funded translational research projects, working with PIs by advising on the experimental strategy to enable successful progression of projects along the translational pathway, developing scientific project and business plans, drafting grant applications and project managing a portfolio of funded translational projects.

We are seeking a solution-focussed Programme Manager to take up this new senior role in the team. Applicants will have a post-graduate degree in the medical or life sciences and direct experience of translational science developing therapeutics and/or medical devices and/or diagnostics, preferably acquired in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry). Strong programme & project management as well as interpersonal skills are essential. Applicants also need to be able to demonstrate a track record of building and maintaining effective working relationships, especially those that cross institutional and cultural boundaries.
