Head of IOE Research IT

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 9. The salary range will be £55,163 - £59,981 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

The Head of IOE Research IT is responsible for coordinating research IT activities across IOE safeguarding and ensuring that the research IT needs of their Faculty are met and that services are provided through the most effective channels. They proactively review Faculty Research IT requirements working closely with academic departments and research centres, provide support when these services need to be provisioned locally and collaborate with other parts of the School and ISD over the provision of shared and centralised services to eliminate service duplication. The role holder will also undertake line management of IOE research IT staff ensuring that their local IT teams are best placed to support research within their Faculty, Division or Institute. 

As well as having experience gained in a research environment and an understanding of the legal and policy requirements in handling sensitive data one of the key requirements is the ability to build relationships and gain the trust of research staff. This will be done by effective communication and demonstrating expertise in the relevant areas.
