Applications are invited for a research position within the condensed matter physics group in the School of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Manchester. You will join a vibrant team of researchers, who have been at the forefront of graphene research since its discovery in 2004, and will work on a series of projects relating to graphene and other 2D materials heterostructures funded by the European Commission, EPSRC and a range of other international funders.

The post is available immediately for a period of up to 12 months and will focus on a number of projects investigating the fundamental properties of 2D materials and their heterostructures, leading to the technological development of 2D materials-based devices:

You will hold a PhD in condensed matter physics. Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience in heterostructures fabricated from 2D materials. You should be well-organised and self-motivated with excellent communication skills. A strong publication record in internationally peer-reviewed journals is essential.
