CATS SRI Research Facilitator

University of Cambridge - Research Operations

An exciting opportunity has been created for a proactive and enthusiastic research facilitator  to work as part of the Cambridge Academy of Therapeutic Sciences (CATS) team to drive development of CATS as one of the University of Cambridge Strategic Research Initiatives. The Academy aims to establish a platform for world-leading academic/industrial collaboration in the development of therapeutics drawing on the breadth of expertise across the University, and includes work programmes around research, education and policy.

You will work in partnership with researchers across the University and in industry, to develop cross disciplinary and cross sector research networks and collaborations. This includes actively seeking funding opportunities and facilitating applications for funding for collaborative research or related activity. You will be responsible for planning and delivering events to bring researchers together to explore topics of mutual interest. You will also develop communication systems to disseminate information about funding opportunities and relevant events across the CATS community. In order to achieve this you will need excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships and networks. A proactive and creative approach and the ability to spot and develop potential new opportunities are essential, as is the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

We are seeking an outstanding individual, driven to work at the interface between academic and industrial research and unlock the potential that this offers.
