Salary is to be determined with due regard to the transitional arrangements relating to the 2016 contract for doctors and dentists in training (if applicable). Indicative scales; 2016 scale for doctors and dentists in training; £26,614 to £46,208 per annum (plus pay premia where eligible). Post-2009 Clinical Lecturer scale; £32,478 to £57,444 per annum

This post provides an exciting opportunity for an individual with relevant research experience, wishing to pursue a clinical academic career in Histopathology (or one of the allied subspecialties of Neuropathology, Forensic Pathology or Paediatric and Perinatal Pathology), to join an expanding research programme in molecular pathology and  whilst continuing clinical training at Specialty Registrar level. You should have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in a relevant area with clinical Histopathology (or subspecialty) experience at Specialty Registrar level and able to demonstrate outstanding potential for development as a clinical academic. 

The University of Liverpool has an excellent international track record of translational and personalised medicine, including molecular pathology. The NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer will be based in the Department of Molecular and Clinical Cancer Medicine, in the William Henry Duncan Building, in the Institute of Translational Medicine. With the close interaction between Hospital Trusts and Universities, there is a flourishing research environment, covering epidemiological and public health aspects, as well as fundamental and translational research.

The post is available for 4 years or until CCT, whichever is sooner. Applicants must have been awarded their PhD by the interview date and must be in a position to take up the post before the 31 March 2018.
