SABOT Project Research Fellow

The Faculty of Manufacturing and Materials within Coventry University is seeking to recruit an outstanding individual to undertake applied research in the area of polymer science.

The successful applicant will be expected to have strong research expertise in one or more of the following polymer processes and technologies:


Polymer casting

Polymer moulding

Polymer biodegradation


PU formulation

Development of biodegradable materials

Characterisation and testing of polymers

Alternatively applicants with a strong industrial research background underpinned by evidence of a good track record of publications associated with the HVM sector will also be welcomed.

Candidates must hold a doctorate in an appropriate scientific or engineering discipline with at least 3 years post-doctoral research and a developing international reputation for research excellence.

The successful candidate will be working initially as a key member of the University's research team with our consortium partner Base Materials on the recently awarded Innovate UK project involving development of biodegradable sustainable PU tooling board.

You will join one of the UK's leading innovative centres associated with applied manufacturing engineering research and one of the UK's most dynamic modern universities, ranked in the Top 3 for teaching excellence in England and Wales and in the Top 50 overall in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide for 2014, 2015 and 2016. We have wide ranging national and international collaborating partners in industry and academia and we are continuing to invest heavily in facilities and personnel to extend Coventry University's research standing on a global scale.
