Fixed term Research Assistant

Swansea University - Engineering

This international project requires the implementation of the recently developed multiscale computational procedure will be utilised to asses to performance of the absorbers. A novel low order approach is to be employed to enable rapid exploration of the design parameter space. The results of the simulation will be compared with experimental study that will be undertaken at Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST).

 General Duties

  • The utilisation of the multiscale model to simulate Nano-structured absorbers
  • The implementation of a low order approach to enable the exploration of the design space
  • The development of mesh morphing to readily handle topology changes introduced by the optimisation procedure

Essential Criteria

  • A PhD degree in Engineering or Mathematics or relevant area
  • Evidence of the ability to actively engage in and contribute to writing and publishing research papers, particularly for refereed journals.
  • A demonstrable ability to conduct research in line with the objectives of the project
  • Evidence of planning skills to contribute to the research project
  • Experience in computational methods
  • Experience in scientific Programming
