The purpose of the Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO) is to support City’s Vision & Strategy 2026 by delivering philanthropic income and non-financial support. The Office raises money for City-wide and strategically important initiatives that cover student support, world class research and development of the estate.

City seeks an experienced major donor fundraiser for the new post of Head of Principal Gifts.

Responsibilities
The Head of Principal Gifts will be tasked with achieving challenging financial goals including a forthcoming multi-million pound fundraising campaign for Cass Business School, one of City’s five Schools and one of the top business schools in the UK. The job holder will manage a personal portfolio of high net worth fundraising prospects and will work closely with the Dean of Cass Business School, Professor Marianne Lewis, other senior academics, advisors and the DARO team to deliver the School’s philanthropic objectives.

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will be a graduate with recent experience of fundraising within the Higher Education environment, a track record of securing six and seven figure gifts and experience of working with a range of senior stakeholders including academics, business leaders and high net worth individuals.

The candidate will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, a strong commitment to customer service, the ability to deal with people from a variety of professional and social backgrounds; and will be an excellent team player, determined and resilient, able to develop effective working relationships with colleagues whose professional objectives may differ from their own.
