Cancer Research UK Beatson Institute in Glasgow is one of Europe's leading cancer research centres. It supports cutting edge research into the molecular mechanisms of cancer development. The Institute provides an outstanding research environment, underpinned by state-of-the-art core services and advanced technologies with special emphasis on imaging, metabolomics and in vivo models of cancer.

We are currently seeking to employ a Scientific Officer/Senior Scientific Officer to work in the Tumour Cell Death Laboratory to cover Maternity Absence.  You will support both administrative and scientific work in the lab.  Tasks will include ordering and maintenance of common reagents, in addition to working on collaborative and independent research projects utilising in vivo cancer models and a variety of cellular and molecular approaches. 

To fill this role we are seeking a candidate with a relevant degree and research experience using in vivo models. Skills in cell and molecular biology are required, including western blotting and cell culture.  A proven record of in vivo techniques and possession of a Home Office personal licence during the last two years is essential. Good organisational and people skills will be important and previous experience of lab management is desirable.
