Postdoctoral Research Associate

The University of Edinburgh

We are seeking an independent and motivated postdoctoral research scientist with an interest in stem cells and cancer. The project will focus on moving forward our understanding of the transcriptional and epigenetic mechanisms that operate in neural stem cells to control self-renewal and differentiation, and how these pathways operate in the context of human brain tumours. You will have a strong training in molecular genetic approaches to the study of transcriptional and/or chromatin based regulatory mechanisms, and will use this to determine the molecular partners and key effectors of lineage-specific transcription factors in normal and tumour-derived neural stem cells. Experience in computational analysis of NGS sequencing datasets would be highly advantageous.

This post is available on a fixed term basis, with a working pattern of 35 hours per week 3 years.
