KWS BioTest

KWS BioTest is based in the Bristol area, and partners with a range of biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients, researching new drug therapies for human disease.  KWS carries out research from the early phases of drug discovery through to assessing drug effects in clinical trials. KWS specialises in the development of drugs in immunology, oncology, inflammation and infection. The company is in a phase of expansion and has a number of Immunologist positions available.

The successful applicants will join a dynamic and flexible team using a variety of state of the art laboratory techniques as part of in vitro and ex vivo studies (pre-clinical and clinical).  There will be ample scope for the individual to take on projects, develop new assays and thereby expand the repertoire of expertise within the team.

The vacancies exist within our Cell Biology/Analytical teams, who develop and run a wide range of immunological assays using techniques such as culture of primary cells and cell lines, flow cytometry, ELISA, Luminex, QPCR and confocal microscopy.  Post holders will work on exciting novel treatments for human diseases, making a genuine contribution to moving potential new drugs into treatments for patients. KWS offers a supportive environment in which training and progression are provided.

Prospective candidates should have a Master’s degree or PhD and have a strong background in Immunology and a good command of biomedical sciences in order to grasp the concepts required.  A clear grasp of the drug discovery process would be an advantage.  Candidates may have worked in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.

KWS BioTest is an ISO9001 accredited CRO, so all personnel have a responsibility to understand and follow the company’s quality management system, maintain accurate records and work to a high standard.  An understanding of GCP/GCLP would also be an advantage.
