Gift Management and Finance Officer

We are currently recruiting for a Gift Management and Finance Officer to support the External Relations Team in achieving the University's philanthropic and engagement priorities.

As Gift Management and Finance Officer you will provide management for all gifts to the University and provide financial accounting management for all cost centres within the External Relations Team. You will also ensure that the External Relations Team has the necessary financial information to manage the team's budgets in an efficient and effective way, providing expert advice on the management of financial resources and advise colleagues across the University regarding the spending of donation income. In addition, as Gift Management and Finance Officer you will manage gift aid associated with fundraising activities and prepare reports for submission to HMRC.

You will be responsible for:

  • Interacting with donors, both individuals and organisations, as the first point of contact regarding the payment of the donors' gifts
  • Managing a pledge reminder process to ensure gifts to the University are received in a timely manner
  • Carrying out monthly management accounting, including review of accounts and monthly report packs for accuracy and completeness on behalf of the department.
  • Co-ordinating the Department Strategic Planning process and preparing supporting information and tools to inform the planning process and aid the subsequent operational monitoring and control of agreed budgets.
  • The day to day management of the operational budgetary system for the department, including authorisation levels and budget control signatories.

You should have:

  • Good GCSEs in Maths and English
  • Be working towards a CCAB qualification or equivalent
  • Proven experience in financial planning, forecasting, monitoring, reporting and general reconciliation, and the provision of budgetary support to senior management staff
  • Previous experience of working in a busy and diverse environment
