Research Technician

Contract Type: Fixed-Term for a period of 12 months with an immediate start date

Summary of role:

You will assist the Research Associate and investigators in a programme of laboratory and field research as laid out by the consortium work plan. You will work under the supervision of the Research Associate and investigators, and in collaboration with the project business development manager and postgraduate students undertaking research projects linked to the project, and other staff of the consortium partners in Oman.

You will have completed an Apprenticeship or hold a relevant qualification such as HND, HNC, Advanced City & Guilds, or have equivalent qualifications or experience. You will have experience or working in a relevant research area or role, and have excellent skills in negotiating, explaining, and instructing others within a research team.

You will work closely with all of the investigators of the project, and will be primarily based in the Department of Animal and Plant Sciences (APS) but also work closely with colleagues in the Department of Chemistry. APS is one of the world's leading departments for whole-organism biology, with the UK's highest concentration of animal and plant science researchers.
