About the role:

Based in the Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences, we’re seeking a motivated research assistant to participate on funded projects within the broad area of Health and Physical Activity in different populations. The department has exciting and innovative research projects which will investigate activity/sedentary behaviour in the over-55 year population through to projects working with commercial companies researching health/activity/well-being in the work place.

As a Research Assistant, you'll work closely with the Director of Research/Project lead(s) completing an array of tasks associated with the projects identified, including; formulating sound research design, quantitative data management (collection to statistical analysis), working on existing data sets as directed, interaction with different participants/members of public, attending and presenting at meetings. You may also be asked to contribute to writing reports, conference and/or journal papers.

With a degree in a relevant area (e.g. Exercise Science / Health / Psychology / Statistics or equiv.), you’ll be able to demonstrate a track record of relevant research experience. With excellent communication skills, ability to work independently and attention to detail, you’ll have high level knowledge across the relevant area of research.
