Strategic Planning Manager (Governance)

An excellent opportunity has become available within our Governance department for a Strategic Planning Manager (Governance) to join their team on a permanent basis. As the post holder, you will consider and guide the approach to integrated thinking across University governance and senior management committees (excl. Council, Council Advisory Committee (CAC) and Nominations Committee). You will also have oversight and manage the interdependencies of business decisions between the University governance and management committees.

We will rely on you to pro-actively analyse best practice and evaluate precedents to enable the University to meet statutory and regulatory requirements and to develop expertise in a professional governance function. You will provide independent advice on governance matters at all levels, to include advice at College and department level and apply a continuous improvement mentality to the University governance function to ensure excellent service to stakeholders at all times.

As the successful candidate, you will have a first degree (or equivalent) and substantial experience working in a governance, accountability or compliance environment in a large or complex organisation. You will have experience of leading and managing a team, dealing with staff at all levels, and providing professional advice and guidance. This role requires an individual who has proven experience of supporting senior University committees and other formal groups and in supporting the development and implementation of policy and practice plus administrative experience with knowledge and understanding of governance structures and functions.
