Professor, Reader or Senior Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning

The School of Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Sciences is looking for a Professor, Reader or Senior Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning to further develop the department’s research programme in artificial intelligence / machine learning (including deep learning), with the capacity to integrate with medical imaging, non-imaging, basic science and clinical activities within the School.

The post holder will undertake a lead role in the development and subsequent management of clinical data & image analytics, and computational statistics/imaging/modelling, natural language processing and/or bioinformatics for clinical and research use. The post holder will supervise and contribute to training of Research Assistants (RAs) and PhD students, as well as contribute to teaching within the Bachelor/Master of Engineering (BEng/MEng) in Biomedical Engineering, the Master of Research (MRes) in Medical Imaging Sciences, and other courses within the School. The post holder will also actively engage in administrative work in the Department and/or School as a member or chair of Departmental or School committees.

The selection process will include a panel interview and an open seminar to the department.

Interviews are scheduled to be held the week commencing: end of Jan/early Feb 2018

Senior Lecturer and Reader salaries will be between: £50,618 - £58,655 per annum 

Professorial salaries will start from: £66,084 per annum

(depending on level of appointment); plus £2,623 London Weighting Allowance per annum

This is a Full-time –  100 % full time equivalent, or Part-time post (for part-time appointments, active links with industry are required)
