Research Fellow (79183-117)

University of Warwick - Warwick Medical School, Clinical Trials Unit

Full-time post, Fixed Term Contract for 3 Years

The University of Warwick wishes to appoint an ambitious researcher to an exciting new post-doctoral position in health economics at one of the UK’s leading universities. The opportunity has arisen due to the successful award of funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation to carry out research to inform strategic decision-making around strategies for the elimination of sleeping sickness (human African trypanosomiasis, HAT). An international, multidisciplinary research consortium – HAT Modelling and Economic Predictions for Policy (HAT MEPP) – will work with key partners in HAT-affected countries to develop regional, policy-ready modelling frameworks and produce predictive results that support decision-makers in the national control programmes.

Given the resource-limited settings involved, a key component of the research programme will involve economic analysis to identify efficient control and elimination strategies. You will work on analyses that link dynamic modelling of alternative control strategies and scenarios to economic outcomes, to assess the associated costs and incremental cost-effectiveness.

Closing date: 15 January 2018

Interview date: 29 January 2018
